Everyday life you can count on.
We want people’s everyday lives to be easier, more predictable and more comfortable. So we are building an app that reminds you of a task right where you can do it, and we run an online shop where you can find and order what you need without a long search.
One idea, two kinds of work
Most everyday worries are small: buy something, return something, don’t forget something. None of them is hard on its own, but together they take up a lot of attention. We want them to take up less.
Remembering at the right moment
The Nearby app reminds you of a task when you are where it can be done, and stays quiet the rest of the time. You no longer have to carry the list around in your head.
What you need, close at hand
Our online shop vevorshop.lv sells tools and equipment as well as products for the home, garden, car and leisure. We build and run it ourselves.
Nearby — reminders in the right place
In development. Nearby is a working name.
Nearby is an app for iPhone and Android that reminds you of pending tasks when you are physically near the place where you can do them. Most of us write the shopping list and still drive straight past the shop. A time-based reminder goes off when you are in the wrong place; Nearby reminds you when you are in the right one.
Attach a reminder to
- An address
- “Return the drill to Andrei” — the reminder arrives when you get to his place.
- Any branch of a chain
- “Milk at any RIMI” — whichever branch you pass, not just one specific store.
- A category of place
- Any pharmacy or parcel locker you happen to pass.
- An item with a Bluetooth tag
- A pill box at home, for example: the reminder arrives when you are near it.
How the app behaves
- Silence by default A notification that does nothing for you is a bug. The app speaks up only when it is genuinely useful.
- Private by design Reminders are evaluated on your phone. Your precise location does not leave the device.
- Works offline Adding tasks, getting reminders and ticking things off all work without an internet connection.
Planned: shared household lists. Whoever is near the shop first gets the reminder, and items are ticked off for everyone.
The app is not available yet. Its privacy policy will be published here before launch.
